Where to Stay in Krakow? Best Hotels, Apartments & Budget Guesthouses

Krakow is one of the most tourist-friendly cities in Poland. It’s no wonder, as it is the second-largest and second-most populous city in the country. The historic Old Town, Wawel Royal Castle, and rich architecture attract millions of tourists from around the world each year. That’s why I’ve prepared a special post for you about accommodations in Krakow.

Where to Stay in Krakow?

Are you also planning to visit this vibrant city? To see the historic Kazimierz, walk through the Cloth Hall, and hear the famous St. Mary’s Trumpet Call? Check out where it’s worth staying in Krakow.

The city has an incredibly rich accommodation base, from charming guesthouses and modern apartments to exclusive hotels with spa facilities and the best restaurants, as well as budget hostels in the city center. The choice is truly vast, so I’ll try to make it easier for you and answer the question: Where to stay in Krakow?

Hotels in Krakow

As I mentioned, there are many hotels in this royal city. I will present to you those highly rated, with pleasant interiors, numerous amenities, delicious breakfasts, and convenient locations.

Hotel Rubinstein boasts 4 stars, excellent ratings on popular booking portals, and an outstanding location. It is located on Szeroka Street, in the heart of the Kazimierz district, about 1 kilometer from landmarks such as Wawel Royal Castle and St. Mary’s Basilica.

You will surely be delighted by the stylish interiors and interesting atmosphere – elegant and royal, yet cozy and pleasant. Tourists appreciate this place for its delicious breakfasts and friendly and helpful staff, which is crucial for me in hotels. After all, during a vacation, everyone wants to feel good and at ease.

Another place in a similar, though more modern atmosphere is Hotel Unicus Palace, also located in the center. Here, you will find comfortable rooms with city views, relax in the pool with a jacuzzi and sauna, and in the evening, you can have a drink at the hotel bar.

Great location, interesting interiors, excellent breakfasts, fitness center, and wellness area contributed to this hotel’s 5-star rating! Interestingly, you can rent both bikes and cars at the hotel.

My next suggestion is Hotel 32 Krakow Old Town – a 3-star property where you may come across rooms with terraces and beautiful city views. A short walk will take you to Wawel, the Main Market Square, or the National Museum in just a few minutes, and you will appreciate the hotel not only for the view but also for its cleanliness and tidy interiors.

If you like places with a view of the city, you might also like The Loft All-Inclusive Hotel Adults Only, where you can use a hydromassage bathtub located on the building’s roof!

You will also have access to a sauna and a hotel restaurant. As you noticed, the property accommodates only adults, so it could be a suggestion for a romantic weekend in Krakow for two.

On the other hand, for families with children, the ideal choice would be Hotel Swing, located a bit further from the center in a quiet district of Krakow. Its biggest advantage? The hotel is located next to a water park! Here you have a lot of attractions – slides, paddling pools, fountains, playgrounds, and even a beach! Your kids will be thrilled.

Interesting Apartments in Krakow

Regarding apartments, you can find really interesting places in excellent locations, also in the heart of the city.

If you enjoy intensive sightseeing during the day and blissful relaxation in the evening, be sure to check out Bona Jacuzzi Club, apartments with a jacuzzi and sauna exclusively for you! The property is decorated in a modern style and is suitable for a romantic getaway for two. Bona Jacuzzi Club is located in the Old Town, and the accommodation includes a place in the underground garage.

Returning to a cozy atmosphere, I recommend checking out the Main Street Apartments located on Bulwar Wiślany, just 600 meters from Wawel.

An advantage of this accommodation is the parking space, which will be a significant saving for you, as private parking in Krakow or the city parking zone can be quite expensive. Travelers appreciate the apartments for their excellent equipment and visually pleasing design, with a Booking rating of 9.8 speaking for itself!

If you are going on a trip to Krakow with a larger group, I recommend the apartments at Bogoria Residence by Loft Affair, less than a kilometer from the center. Large, bright, spacious, and beautifully furnished exclusive apartments are equipped with a TV, fridge, coffee maker, and kettle, among other amenities. You can also order breakfast and use the terrace with a city view.

Budget Accommodations in Krakow

For those who love budget travel and opportunities for affordable accommodation, I have prepared a compilation of places at really good prices. However, remember that prices largely depend on the season, so if you don’t want to overpay, avoid Krakow during the peak summer season or winter holidays.

The first option at a really good price will be the Akacja Pokoje Gościnne hostel. Travelers appreciate it for clean and well-maintained rooms, hassle-free parking, and a friendly owner. You can book accommodation here for prices starting from 160 zł per night for 2 people.

Located in the Old Town, Nowy Kleparz will be a good choice for those who appreciate beautiful, old tenement houses – this accommodation is located in one of them. The rooms have a city view and a convenient location (15 minutes’ walk to the Old Town). The rooms are equipped with everything you will need, including a kettle, fridge, or microwave, and the accommodation price will be around 200 zÅ‚ per night for 2 people.

Another highly-rated option is Dream Hostel & Apartments, where you can find accommodation starting from 129 zł and again – right in the city center on Dietla Street. You will have access to a shared kitchen, TV lounge, and a large terrace, and there is a minimarket near the accommodation.
