Luxury Hotels

Solo Experience Hotel is a four-star hotel with a distinguished decor. It is located in a 17th-century building in the city center, right next to the San Lorenzo basilica! The Junior Suite with a Turkish bath will be perfect for traveling couples looking for relaxation and comfort. In addition to a comfortable bedroom and a private sauna, you can find amenities such as a television, desk with chairs, spacious bathroom, as well as facilities like a coffee maker or a welcome bottle of wine.

Lower Silesia is a region distinguished by a significant number of castles and palaces. There are over twenty of them, and each is definitely worth a visit! Today I will present to you those among them where hotels operate. Staying in such a place will provide everyone with unforgettable experiences! They are particularly suitable for a romantic getaway combined with sightseeing, but they will also be great for a family trip.

Kliczków Castle

Kliczków Castle draws its style from French castles. Once there was a fortress here, which was meant to defend the Duchy of Świdnica-Jawor. Over the centuries, the building changed owners frequently. The modernization that gave it its current shape took place in the 19th century. At that time, the castle was also surrounded by an English-style garden.

Kliczków Castle is one of the largest structures of its kind in Lower Silesia. It looks truly impressive! It consists of residential wings in the neo-Gothic and neo-Renaissance styles.

Kliczków Castle houses a hotel, a spa center, and an elegant restaurant. Accommodations are available in double rooms (starting from 399 PLN) and apartments. The most luxurious Imperial Suite has an area of over 50m² and consists of a bedroom (with a canopy bed) and a spacious living room. It is distinguished by original 19th-century furnishings and room layout. You can feel like royalty here!

Wojanów Palace

Wojanów Palace is the main part of a large estate. It was built between 1603 and 1607 at the behest of Nickel von Zedlitz. Originally characterized by Renaissance style, the palace was rebuilt in the Baroque style in the 18th century, and in the 19th century – in the Neoclassical style with elements of Neo-Gothic.

Within the palace complex, you will find a garden, a brick barn, a stable, and a residential outbuilding. The palace has three floors in the shape of a rectangle with towers at each corner. Like other similar estates, Wojanów Palace changed hands over the years. After World War II, it housed a state-owned farm, the activities of which damaged the building.

Currently, the restored Wojanów Palace offers accommodations. There are rooms available – from single to quadruple occupancy – as well as a Premium SPA room and apartments. The rooms are located both in the Barn and in the Palace itself. Prices start from 369 PLN. Guests also have access to a pool with a sauna.

Karpniki Castle

Karpniki Castle was built in the 14th century. Its current appearance dates back to 1846 and is the work of the architect Friedrich August Stüler. Despite modifications, remnants from the Middle Ages can still be found in the castle: part of the tower and fragments of the north and east wings.

After its turbulent history, which led to destruction, Karpniki Castle was purchased and renovated by private owners. Currently, modernity blends with well-preserved historical spirit in the castle.

You can stay in a Standard castle room for a price starting from 650 PLN per night. However, it’s worth paying attention to the Royal Apartment. It consists of two historical rooms that were the most important rooms of the castle in the times of the Hohenzollern royal family. Its special features include stained glass windows, ceilings adorned with golden stars, 19th-century paneling, and stylish furniture.

Lomnica Palace

Lomnica Palace was built in the 17th century. The main part and two corner residential chambers date back to that time. In the 1720s, modifications were made to the palace’s facade and interiors. However, the most significant changes in the appearance of Lomnica Palace were made between 1838 and 1844.

After World War II, it served as an agricultural school, and later as a primary school. In the 1970s, the complex was abandoned, and during the communist era, it was turned into a state-owned farm, contributing to the ruin of the main palace. It was only in 1992 that descendants of the von Küster family – former owners – in cooperation with partners from Poland regained the estate and restored the palace to its former glory.

Available rooms are divided into two categories: Palace rooms and Arkadia rooms. As you might guess, the former are located in the Palace, and their interiors faithfully reflect the historical character of the place. Rooms from the second category are located in the Manager’s House and are decorated in a cozy, idyllic style. You can also rent the Gardener’s Studio in the Gardener’s Cottage, which can accommodate up to six people.

Lubiechowa Palace

Lubiechowa Palace was built on the site where the hunting castle of the Duke of Jawor, Henry I, once stood. The Duke sold it to private hands along with the village. Later, the estate was bought by Kaspar Otto v. Zedlitz, the grandson of Kaspar von Zedlitz from Podgórki, and it was most likely then that the castle was transformed into a palace.

In the post-war years, the palace housed a holiday center. In subsequent years, it belonged to the commune and unfortunately fell into ruin. The property was bought, and in 2021 it was reopened.

The main Palace has 23 rooms and 1 suite, and in the nearby Agronomist’s House – 7 rooms and 3 suites. Prices start from 230 PLN per night. There are single and double rooms available, as well as Superior rooms with an extra bed. All are decorated in a retro style consistent with the place’s decor. Although Lubiechowa Palace may seem unassuming to you, it is beautifully restored!

Czocha Castle

Czocha Castle was built in 1247 at the behest of the Czech king Wenceslaus I. From 1319 for 70 years, it was ruled by Piast princes. In the following years, the castle returned to the Czech Republic. In 1909, the neglected castle was bought by Ernst Gütschow, who, along with the Berlin architect Bodo Ebhardt, restored its “historical” appearance from 1703.

After the war, the castle became a center for Polish Army officers, which helped it avoid the fate of other similar castles, and it survived in excellent condition until modern times.

Czocha Castle is particularly notable for its themed rooms! Because the building resembles a certain famous castle from fantasy books, you can spend the night in the magical Wizard Boy’s Room! I think many of you would also enjoy the Traveler’s Room. In addition to these, regular rooms are available, divided into Standard and Superior types. Gruszów Palace

Gruszów Palace was built around 1830. Shortly afterward, the residence was rebuilt into a representative palace in the Neo-Renaissance style. Immediately after the end of World War II, Gruszów Palace was a place for relaxation and organization of summer camps. By the decision of the provincial conservator of monuments dated November 8, 1980, both the palace and the surrounding park were entered into the register of monuments.

In Gruszów Palace, there are twelve atmospheric rooms available: 4 Standard single rooms, 4 Premium double rooms, two apartments with tiled stoves, a three-room Superior apartment, and a double room “In the Palace Cellar” with a castle-like character. Prices start from 320 PLN. Guests praise the decor and exemplary service.

You have numerous options, from luxurious hotels with pools, all-inclusive options, and all amenities, to more modest but well-rated choices. You can choose a central location, right by the beach, or in a quiet area away from crowds and busy roads.

Water enthusiasts will appreciate the free bus to the Aqua Paradise water park nearby.

What was the last year like? For me, it was completely unplanned, although it might seem otherwise. Fortunately, I didn’t share my plans here because their execution varied greatly. However, looking back, the past year seems to have followed some sort of pattern.

Certainly, it was not the case because, more precisely, at this time, I was supposed to be living in another country on a different continent. In 2022, we had a visa and a plan to kick-start things. However, due to various circumstances, we couldn’t manage it. Perhaps it will work out next year (or maybe not).

Reflecting on this year, I realized that ten years ago, in 2014, I began searching for my “end of the world.” Back then, I went to the Turkish city of Mersin for the Erasmus program.

Someday, I will summarize these ten years, but for now, I’ll just write about how 2023 was. In one word: surprising. ?

Visited Places

Let me start with travels (after all, it is a travel blog!).

A lot happened this year, and I certainly can’t count the number of places I visited. The most important thing this year was that I had a great time. I revisited many attractions several times (Moszna Castle or Niemodlin), returned to others after years (Rock City in the Czech Republic). There were also new countries like Portugal, Kenya, or Thailand – fulfilling my dreams, such as safari or a visit to Disneyland.

2023 Professionally

I’ll start by saying that throughout the year, I did what I love and found satisfaction in it. I managed to complete several major (and many minor) projects that brought me both satisfaction and income.

In February and March, I worked remotely from Spain, specifically Catalonia. It was a pleasant and sunny time during which I could explore this interesting region and recharge my batteries for the upcoming busy spring (and summer) season.

I collaborated with many organizations and companies, achieving the intended results. Tangible results, high reach – I was also pleased that it turned out to be interesting. Many projects came ad-hoc, so I could test myself in organizing work while traveling professionally for a month (Paris, Switzerland, Thailand, Germany, and only free weekends for a campaign for Avis).

In May, I was chosen by the Thai Tourism Organization as the media representative from Poland at the TTM+ fair in Bangkok.

Apart from selling our photos to various companies, this year, my and Maciek’s photos appeared on postage stamps promoting Poland, specifically the Lubusz Voivodeship.

In August, my new book was released – “Guide for Those Considering Emigration,” which I co-wrote with a group of people living abroad. I am very proud of this.

I have often appeared in the media, talking about travels or my new book.

I returned to recording the podcast in a slightly different form – conversations and interviews.

I primarily do this part for myself so that I can see how much happened because I quickly forget and say, “Oh, I think I’ve been lazing around all year.” Later, when I tell Maciek, he can open this summary and say, “Well, I don’t think so.” ?

Unrealized Things

I won’t beat around the bush that everything went according to my plan. I had slightly different plans, and fate had its own way (perhaps even better). During the season, I had a lot of work, so I didn’t have time for social meetings (which I made up for as much as possible later).

It happened that a tentatively agreed-upon campaign was canceled just before (it happens). Sometimes it turned out that I didn’t fit the profile. On the other hand, I could have completed more projects that I didn’t take on. I rejected advertisements related to politics and inconsistent with my worldview. What saddened me the most was that after a month of traveling, a proposal for a cool two to three-week trip came up. During this time, I worked intensively on my new book and knew I couldn’t agree to it: a day has only 24 hours, and another trip would have harmed my relationship. Some things are important, and some are more important.

Sometimes I had too much on my plate; sometimes I had to argue about something, sometimes I learned a lesson I didn’t want. I made mistakes. But I won’t list how many things didn’t go according to my plan because it was a really good year, probably even better than my initial plan.

Good Things

The most joy (which makes up our lives) this year came from observing nature and long walks in search of wildlife, especially birds. I ate a lot of delicious things, and it’s hard to say what was the tastiest (probably mieng pla in Thailand), but the best wine I found in Germany and Portugal. This year, I met a lot of friendly and funny people whom I didn’t introduce here, yet relationships with people bring the most to my life. Traditionally, I spent the most time with Maciek, working, traveling, or doing nothing. ?

Although the rooms are small, they are clean, with plants and graphics on the walls that give them character.

The next property, Lidi Guesthouse, is in a good location, literally five hundred meters from the center of Budapest, or more precisely, from the Great Synagogue, one of the main tourist attractions. It offers bright, visually pleasing, and nicely decorated double rooms. The bathroom and modest kitchen are shared among all currently staying guests. If you’re looking for an opportunity to meet people from around the world, the doors of Carpe Noctem Hostel are open for you! Many solo travelers have written in their reviews that their life adventure began at this place. A bed in an 8-person co-ed room costs from 15 euro per night, depending on the date.

Cozy in Budapest is a small one-bedroom apartment, or rather a small studio. However, it provides the comfort of having a small kitchenette with a microwave and an electric kettle, as well as a private bathroom. This complete privacy starts from 45 euro per night for two people!

Despite its small size, the studio is bright and cozy: it contains a large bed, a small table with two chairs where you can have breakfast or lunch. There’s also a sofa where you can relax! There is no TV in the property.

Value privacy but don’t need luxury? Look at Memory Lane, a newcomer on Booking.com: the furniture in this apartment has seen some years, but the place is equipped with everything you may need during your stay, and the owner shows friendliness and flexibility.

Studio Apartments by Hi5- Apartment in Downtown is a micro-apartment. Prices start from 50 euro per night for two people! A large bed, TV, functional bathroom, and a small kitchenette provide the necessary minimum comfort. If you plan to spend mainly nights in the apartment, this will be more than enough.

Picturesque, mysterious, atmospheric, and beautiful—this is how I see Prague. If you’ve already visited this city, I think you can share my opinion. However, if you haven’t been to

Prague yet, I encourage you to travel and explore one of the most interesting capitals in Europe. I have prepared a special post for you about accommodations in Prague, and I hope you will be able to benefit from my recommendations.

Where to Stay in Prague?

The capital of the Czech Republic offers a rich variety of accommodations. Here, you can find many luxury hotels, as well as atmospheric apartments in old tenement houses, flats on the outskirts of the city, or hostels in the very center. One of Prague’s advantages is that you can find accommodations here at lower prices compared to other European capitals. The city is well-connected, which favors budget travel and finding places to stay in districts a bit further from the center. You can get around here by metro, bus, tram, and, of course, by car. Therefore, if you have a limited budget, I think it’s worth choosing a comfortable and inexpensive apartment a bit further from the center but close to, for example, a metro station.

Best Hotels in Prague

In the Malá Strana District, you will find the Pytloun Old Armoury Hotel Prague, Stará Zbrojnice, rated as fantastic in many aspects (location, decor, comfort). As the name suggests, it is located in an old historic building, and its interiors are truly delightful. If you are looking for affordable accommodation in, excellent location (10 minutes walk to Charles Bridge), delicious breakfasts, and unusual interior design, this is the place for you. Additionally, the hotel is situated in a green area, right next to the peaceful Kampa Park.

The Hotel Residence Bijou de Prague is also decorated in a similar historical style. Its decor will surely appeal to all history and art enthusiasts. An undeniable advantage is its location—the hotel is located near Prague Castle and the Old Town.

For those who prefer more modern hotels, I have a few suggestions. Myo Hotel Wenceslas is a 4-star property located near points of interest such as the National Museum, the National Opera, and even a police station. The hotel is highly rated, withprivate parking, and rooms with a beautiful view of the city!

Allure Hotel Prague is also an interesting option. The hotel is located in a historic tenement house in the Prague 1 district, only 600 meters from one of the city’s landmarks—the Town Hall with its famous astronomical clock. The interiors are tastefully decorated, and guests appreciate the hotel for its excellent service, location, and delicious breakfast.

If you like luxurious hotels, pay attention to the 5-star The Emblem Prague Hotel – Preferred Hotels & Resorts. The hotel is located almost in the very center of Prague, offering rooms with features like a bathtub by the bed. Here, you can also relax in the sauna and go out to the terrace, where you can admire the city from a jacuzzi!

However, if a rooftop jacuzzi is not enough for you, I suggest checking out the 5-star hotel The President. Located on the banks of the Vltava River, overlooking the Old Town and Prague Castle. After exploring the city, you can take advantage of the biological regeneration center with a sauna and pool and relax royally. Additionally, this property is only a minute’s walk from the Old Town, and the interior is modern and interesting.

Tested Apartments and Interesting Apartments

I can recommend accommodation at Residence Vocelova. The property offers apartments for two or more people, suitable for both a romantic getaway and a family or friends trip. You are close to the metro station as well as within walking distance of the Old Town or Wenceslas Square.

Another interesting and inexpensive option is Maria Apartments – Free Parking. You will appreciate this place for its good location and free parking. The hosts are very friendly, even providing a small treat in the apartments. The rooms are nice and cozy, and it’s no wonder that the apartments have an excellent rating on Booking.

Three Golden Crowns Apartments is an interesting exclusive apartment option with a bathroom, kitchen, seating area, and all amenities. The property is located in the city center, and guests appreciate it for its location, available parking, spacious rooms, and a view from the window.

On the other hand, with a rating of 9.7 on Booking, I recommend MOOo by the Castle apartments with a unique atmosphere. They are located in a historic building from the 16th century, just 400 meters from Prague Castle. The property also has a beautiful courtyard, apartments with balconies, and rich equipment.

You can spend a fabulous weekend here in an extraordinary castle atmosphere. The staff has taken care of all the details, and the property will surely meet your expectations.

Budget Accommodations in Prague

As I mentioned, compared to other European capitals, accommodation prices in Prague are not exorbitant. If you are looking for truly budget options, I have prepared a few suggestions.

How about a capsule hostel? Well-rated Capsule Hostel Andel Centre SPIRIT offers accommodation starting from approximately €27 per night (with a Genius discount on Booking) and is located in the Prague 5 district. You can sleep in nice and comfortable capsules here and use shared facilities like a kitchen, bathroom, or lockable lockers for your belongings.

At slightly higher prices but still within €45 per night, you will find hostels closer to the center, such as Czech Inn or GLOBE Hostel Prague ADULTS ONLY. You can also find offers of around €45 per night on Airbnb. Within a budget of €70, you can make reservations in hotels with a private bathroom, for example, in the 4-star Hotel Liliova Prague Old Town or in the well-rated Residence Tabor, where breakfast is included in the price.

It’s worth hunting for bargains or visiting Prague outside the tourist season. Very good luxury hotels in the city center also sometimes offer accommodation within the range of €70-€90 per night, which is quite rare in other tourist European cities.

From luxury hotels to comfortable apartments to budget hostels, you will find many options for a great weekend or even a longer stay in the Czech capital.

VICE CITY Hostel is a colorful place that definitely stands out among many accommodation options in Wrocław. You will pay around 100-130 zł for a night here.

It is conveniently located near the city’s main attractions, and from the windows, you have a nice view of the center. In all rooms, in addition to comfortable beds, you will find a shared bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer, as well as a wardrobe.

Neat and budget accommodation near the center? I suggest hostelswidnicka24. You can stay here for less than 200 zł per night, with a private bathroom, convenient location, and pleasant interior. What more could you want for budget travel?

U Danusi offers accommodations run by the “beloved Mrs. Danusia” – as people who have visited this place say. Clean rooms, good prices, a bit further from the center, but with convenient access and, above all, free parking. I’m sure it’s worth visiting Mrs. Danusia’s place in Wrocław.

In the Old Town, a recommended place for budget vacations is Ada Aparthouse. It has high ratings and low prices, as well as a good location.

As you can see, Wrocław offers a variety of accommodation options that will meet the expectations of many people. If you value the atmosphere of the city, choose a hotel located in the heart of the old town.

Krakow is one of the most tourist-friendly cities in Poland. It’s no wonder, as it is the second-largest and second-most populous city in the country. The historic Old Town, Wawel Royal Castle, and rich architecture attract millions of tourists from around the world each year. That’s why I’ve prepared a special post for you about accommodations in Krakow.

Where to Stay in Krakow?

Hotel Rubinstein boasts 4 stars, excellent ratings on popular booking portals, and an outstanding location. It is located on Szeroka Street, in the heart of the Kazimierz district, about 1 kilometer from landmarks such as Wawel Royal Castle and St. Mary’s Basilica.

You will surely be delighted by the stylish interiors and interesting atmosphere – elegant and royal, yet cozy and pleasant. Tourists appreciate this place for its delicious breakfasts and friendly and helpful staff, which is crucial for me in hotels. After all, during a vacation, everyone wants to feel good and at ease.

Another place in a similar, though more modern atmosphere is Hotel Unicus Palace, also located in the center. Here, you will find comfortable rooms with city views, relax in the pool with a jacuzzi and sauna, and in the evening, you can have a drink at the hotel bar.

Great location, interesting interiors, excellent breakfasts, fitness center, and wellness area contributed to this hotel’s 5-star rating! Interestingly, you can rent both bikes and cars at the hotel.

My next suggestion is Hotel 32 Krakow Old Town – a 3-star property where you may come across rooms with terraces and beautiful city views. A short walk will take you to Wawel, the Main Market Square, or the National Museum in just a few minutes, and you will appreciate the hotel not only for the view but also for its cleanliness and tidy interiors.

If you like places with a view of the city, you might also like The Loft All-Inclusive Hotel Adults Only, where you can use a hydromassage bathtub located on the building’s roof!

You will also have access to a sauna and a hotel restaurant. As you noticed, the property accommodates only adults, so it could be a suggestion for a romantic weekend in Krakow for two.

On the other hand, for families with children, the ideal choice would be Hotel Swing, located a bit further from the center in a quiet district of Krakow. Its biggest advantage? The property is decorated in a modern style and is suitable for a romantic getaway for two. The first option at a really good price will be the Akacja Pokoje Gościnne hostel. Travelers appreciate it for clean and well-maintained rooms, hassle-free parking, and a friendly owner. You can book accommodation here for prices starting from 160 zł per night for 2 people.

Located in the Old Town, Nowy Kleparz will be a good choice for those who appreciate beautiful, old tenement houses – this accommodation is located in one of them. The rooms have a city view and a convenient location (15 minutes’ walk to the Old Town). The rooms are equipped with everything you will need, including a kettle, fridge, or microwave, and the accommodation price will be around 200 zł per night for 2 people.

Looking for a place with brighter and slightly more modern interiors? In that case, U Robsona private accommodation is the choice for you! The property consists of four private rooms (from double and above) and a shared kitchen.

On Booking.com, U Robsona boasts a rating of 9.4! The rooms are cozy, well-kept, each with a TV, and guests praise the decor and peaceful surroundings in reviews. It takes about twenty minutes to walk to the center of Szklarska Poręba from here. Two adults can stay in this property for as little as 166 PLN per night!

Another place where you can find affordable accommodation is Hotel Willa Hektor, with an attractive price starting from just over 100 PLN per night for one person and from 150 PLN for two. However, it’s essential to remember that the minimum stay at Willa Hektor is 2 nights, so if you’re looking for a place for just one night, cross this specific hotel off your list.

In the villa, you can get a room with a balcony or a room with a mountain view. Regarding the location, you can reach the trail or Szrenica lift within 10 minutes. The advantage of the place is that it is away from the hustle and bustle. The owner provides guests with access to the kitchen and dining room.
